HVSA participants in the Clackamas County Girls Softball Association (CCGSA) and follows the Amateur Softball Assosiation of America (ASA) rules.  The age levels are based upon your child's age as of January 1st.  (For example, a player who turns 9 on January 2nd is eligible to play 8u because they were still 8 on January 1st.  See below for level descriptions.

A child who is advanced for her age may elect to play up one level, but no one is allowed to play down a level.  The only exception is the gray area between T-Ball and 8U.  The recommended ages for T-Ball are 5 & 6, but there is leeway, so please give us a call if you are uncertain.  

Our recreational teams are assigned randomly; although once a team is formed we try to keep the same girls together as they move up, unless a change is requested.     

While most of our teams are recreational “C” level teams, we will also host one Competitive “B” level team at the 10U, 12U, and 14U level.  Recreational teams will participate in the CCGSA ASA Recreational League, and competitive teams will play tournaments, and possibly participate in the CCGSA League at the “B” level (to be determined at team level).  The costs listed on the Registration Form are for the recreational program only - competitive team fees are higher and will vary by team, based upon the number of tournaments entered, uniforms, etc.  Tryouts for the Competitive “B” level teams are open to anyone in the 10U, 12U and 14U age levels – there is no pre-selection of teams.
